editor

I made an editor for myself.

It’s designed for writing and reviewing prose but you bring your own harness. Any changes made to files in a project made with any harness are highlighted for review and can be accepted/rejected in blocks.

The editor with a LaTeX paper open. Changes made by an external harness are highlighted inline, each block with Keep and Undo buttons.

Up until recently, I used Cursor as my daily driver. The integrated chat panel lets you use Cmd+L to add to chat and ask questions/make very precise edits. And when edits are made, they are very clearly highlighted with accept/reject options for each block of changes. It’s perfect for writing LaTeX. But there are a few annoyances that drove me away:

  • they can no longer serve OpenAI models
  • their diff highlighting for prose is abysmal

I wasn’t using Cursor because of their harness, cloud agents or in-house models. I just really valued the integration between the harness and the editor.

editor pairs with any harness to give you rich diff + blockwise accept/reject for changes.
